City offers new guide for newly released ex-offenders
New Life has three openings
- Program and Administrative Services Manager to oversee the organization’s core programs and administrative services. The successful candidate is a self-starter, with strong administrative and organizational skills, is able to communicate with diverse audiences both within the organization in the community, has strong computer and analytical skills, and is able to build a team environment while supervising staff. The Program Manager works with the Executive Director on funding proposals for the organization’s programs and services.
- Volunteer Individual Tax Assistance (VITA) Program Coordinator, provides overall coordination of the program; works with project volunteers and agency staff to assure well planned and executed program(s).
- Financial Education Coordinator, Coordinates and promotes regional financial education resources for statewide financial literacy initiative. Ensure availability and accessibility of financial literacy courses and workshops throughout the region; Coordinate outreach and recruitment of low-income and older adult residents of the region for financial education; Ensure one-on-one counseling is available to target population.

Position open at STARS (Striving Toward Achievement, Renewal and Success)
STARS helps women and girls re-build their lives after becoming involved in the criminal justice system, with supportive environment including therapeutic interventions, job training, education, and motivation counseling. STARS is funded through a grant from the Connecticut Court Support Services Division.
Position is responsible for the daily operation of the gender specific alternative to incarceration program. Director will supervise STARS program staff, represent the program in the criminal and community justice network and with state and local funding agencies and referral sources; support program staff as necessary; other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Sociology or related field; min. 4 years experience in social service delivery and 2 years supervisory or management experience; strong written and verbal communication skills.
