Looking for a list of nonprofit organizations in New Haven? I have Guidestar's list of over 1000 501 (c)(3) organizations in New Haven that are arranged into broad categories, and include missions--I will email the list on request (cbrown@nhfpl.org). You can also get a list of 638 New Haven public charities from the IRS charities website (see links, left)--or ask me to email it to you. Neither of these lists contains contact or financial info--for this, visit the Foundation Center (link at left) and do a 990 search for each organization.

This all got harder when Guidestar started charging for access to its nonprofit database--which provides the ability to create the lists and download the details about the organizations in the list. I'm hoping to obtain funding to make this resource available from the library.
