Executive Director sought for Connecticut Early Childhood Alliance in Hartford

The Alliance is seeking a seasoned leader, advocate, and consensus builder to serve as Executive Director to build on recent successes and identify opportunities for continued growth. This is an exceptional opportunity for a leader with a strong public policy background, the ability to promote unity among a diverse membership, and an understanding of early childhood issues.

The Executive Director will manage and oversee the strategic, programmatic and fundraising operations of the Alliance, provide leadership to volunteer members in achieving the Alliance's goals, and work in close partnership with its over 40 member organizations.

The Executive Director will effect policy change to benefit children from birth to eight years; help diverse constituencies and stakeholders speak with a unified voice for children. Current staff includes one f/t and one p/t; budget is $300,000. Alliance is funded by William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund and membership dues. Search is being conducted by The Connecticut Early Childhood Alliance and Nonprofit Professionals Advisory Group.

Successful candidate will have an in-depth working knowledge of the Connecticut legislative and executive branch processes, experience working with policy makers, skills in consensus building, and the acumen and ability to move an advocacy agenda at the state level; Bachelor's degree; at least three years experience in leadership; experience crafting messages and communication strategies, including the use of new and emerging media and web-based technologies.

Casey's Elm City Fellowship for Children and Families

This 9-month executive training program is designed to foster leadership within New Haven's nonprofit and public sectors. It convenes for two days monthly from Oct. 09-June 2010, with workshops and one overnight retreat.

STARS helps women and girls re-build their lives after becoming involved in the criminal justice system, with supportive environment including therapeutic interventions, job training, education, and motivation counseling. Opening for computer refurbisher at Electronic Recycling and Research Corp

ER&R is looking for Independent Contractor to rebuild computers and TVs for resale.
