Due to extreme temperatures expected for the region today, Mayor DeStefano says, "This heat wave we are going to experience poses a risk to some of New Haven's most vulnerable populations... I have directed City agencies to immediately open and activate cooling centers ... Seniors that are having issues with the heat should contact the City or check the City website for the nearest cooling center."
